Fostering Youth Entrepreneurship for Economic Sustainability

The government has always been proactive towards developing an entrepreneurial culture in Singapore while promoting innovation and value creation among youths. Understanding the importance of youth entrepreneurship, RMA Contracts has been continuously supporting the My First Break (MFB) Programme @ South East, which is under the patronage of the South East Community Development Council (South East CDC).

RMA's involvement in My First Break (MFB) Cohort 15

The sponsorship of RMA towards the sustainability of this programme is in line with the organisation's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts. The MFB programme has been running since 2005 and RMA, with its strong sense of continuous engagement within the community is proud to have sponsored the Cohort 15 in 2019.

About My First Break (MFB)

MFB is a programme that seeks to empower young entrepreneurs ages 15 to 21 years old to cultivate a culture of entrepreneurship through mentorship. This programme, which looks beyond academic performance and qualification, also provides the much-needed exposure on the foundational theories of business entrepreneurship such as:

  • Setting up and managing a business
  • Making entrepreneurial decisions
  • Identify new business opportunities and
  • Opportunity to start‐up their micro‐business

Selected youths studying or residing in the district also get the opportunity to expand their knowledge with an annual overseas trip under this programme.

About South East Community Development Council (CDC)

The South East CDC was set up on 24 November 2001 with the firm belief in the `ABCs of Community Bonding´ ‐ Assisting the Needy, Bonding with the People and Connecting with the Community. With these tenets in mind, South East CDC aims to build a community, with the residents and stakeholders, where everyone can feel a sense of belonging and pride.
